I build and operate my own software in New York City. Slate and Rams are my main focus, alongside a collection of smaller products through HSLA0001. I also offer focused 1:1 sessions for founders working through a specific product decision.
My independent software studio, home to Slate, a private journal, and Rams, a design and accessibility review tool for developers. I own the products and handle their design, development, distribution, and day-to-day operation. Other releases include Autobahn and the Framework suite: Void, Loop, Protocol, and Stack. Earlier client work included Shopify, Faire, Whatnot, and Tlon.
Built Multi from concept to funded product: a Bitcoin wallet spanning custom hardware and software. Raised a seed round from OVN Capital, Offline Ventures, and angels, and hired the founding team across hardware, software, and design. Built Multi Vault, a multi-party computation wallet designed for institutional custody with N-of-M multi-device approvals, and Multi Key, an NFC device for wireless recovery and payments. Owned the vision, architecture, and design across both.
Principal designer responsible for design quality across the product, serving as the final review before work moved into engineering. Scope covered product vision, information architecture, navigation, and the home screen. Led vision and architecture for v3 and v4, and contributed to the early design of the Bitcoin and stock investing features. Worked alongside the design team as a senior individual contributor: recruiting designers, establishing the critique process, running design reviews, and authoring the team’s design principles.
Designed across hardware and platform: the web commerce experience, the art discovery platform, and the remote control for the EO1 display. Redesigned the iOS and display applications, and built interactive prototypes and animations in Framer.
Designed the product and brand for a protocol connecting media to its creators across the open web. Created the visual identity from scratch: logo, system, and the marketing site. Designed the product experience for exploring and attributing media.
