Traditional Japanese nigiri basami, thread scissors whose hingeless one-piece form has stayed unchanged for centuries. The sprung body opens itself after each cut, so trimming a thread is a single squeeze. Each pair is handmade in Tsubame-Sanjo, the Niigata region known for Japanese blade making.
